The Best Facemasks For All Skin Types

Happy midweek all!

Can I just take a moment to shout-out the beautiful weather we have been getting for the past few weeks because, honestly, is there anywhere nicer in the world than Ireland when it's sunny? The Bahamas have nothing on us right now!

The rising temperatures do mean we're inclined to wear less make-up - because it literally just slides off our face before noon - which can be a nightmare for anyone who relies on makeup to cover the odd spot, mattify oily skin or brighten dull skin. As a face-mask connoisseur, I've decided to list all my favourite masks and which ones work best for what skin ailment.

**All face masks can be purchased in Finnerty's Pharmacy

The MVP of Face Masks:

At €8.95 for a one-time face mask, this one is on the pricey side but my god is this mask incredible! You take this mask off and feel like you've just got a facial; my skin always feels like its super-hydrated and glowey days after each use. Plus it has great extra features like the mask sticks to your skin so you can actually move around while wearing it and you don't need to wash off any excess; instead you rub in the remaining serum residue.

Summed up; Treat yourself but beware, these masks are addictive!

The Most Suitable For RN Face-Mask
As I previously mentioned, temperatures are soaring right now in Ireland and we are terrible people for applying SPF, not to mention aftersun! That's what makes Garnier's latest After Sun tissue mask perfect. On offer for €2.70, the mask not only provides after-sun for the most exposed part of your body (the face), it also provides relief if you've been sunburned. All the while, it's also a great mask to replenish any lost moisture in your face because of sun exposure.

The Best Value For Money Face Masks

These masks also fit into the "Best Hidden Gems" category. For €2 these masks do a lot more than the price suggests. Packed with 25ml of serum, these second-skin masks help with a range of skin problems; the Purifying Boost helping rid of excess oil to give the skin a healthy complexion and the Radiance Boost ideal for anyone suffering from dry or dull skin. Packed with vitamins, these cheap as chips masks are the ideal weekly-treatment.

The Best of All Worlds  Face Mask
When these guys landed in work, they created a frenzy. They continuously sold out due to their similarity to their more expensive competition Glam Glow and earned the spot of L'Oreal's most searched skin product of 2017. I love these multi-packs because of the simple reason; different parts of your face require different treatments. When sealed correctly, the pots last even after being opened - I use tightly wrapped cling film.

The Does Exactly What It Says On The Tin Face Mask

Sometimes you just need a straight-forward face mask. The endless amounts of choice nowadays and the various promises each one makes - using overly-descriptive words that confuses us more than anything - can make it hard to decide which one to pick. I love Kiss's Soothing face mask because it does exactly that - it soothes. Great for under eye puffiness of dark circles and just a good overall face mask, it's worth the €2.70 price tag.

The Disappointing Face Mask

At €18 a pot, these face masks are an investment - plus you get more than one application out of them each. However, despite enjoying them the first couple of times, I just didn't feel like they made any huge difference to the overly condition of my face. Also, the Double Glow Peel Mask suggests you peel the mask off once you've waited the recommended time. This is a lie. However, if you find your skin super sensitive to most face masks, these could be the ones for you as they're paraben and sulfate free so ideal for intolerant skin!

I should mention that everyone's skin is completely unique. Therefore, everyone will react differently to these masks but these are my honest opinions and recommendations. If you feel like you disagree entirely with my opinion, feel free to leave a comment with your thoughts on the products mentioned. Also, as I said, I am a huge  face mask connoisseur so let me know if there's a face mask I just have to try!
